A Louis XV Yew and Elm Cupboard

This is an 18th Century Louis XV provincial yew and elm sideboard or cupboard has a lovely patina. The wood is a lovely mellow colour and is a bit lighter than traditional English mahogany furniture, which we also love. The brass handle details on the drawers and doors add interest and even the hinges are beautifully designed. We sourced it from an auction of the contents of a country house which had originally been decorated by Roger Jones of Sibyl Colefax and John Fowler so it has excellent provenance.
